NPS Geysers App

NPS Geysers App

The most frequently asked question in Yellowstone National Park is, “When will Old Faithful erupt next?” The park used a variety of analog methods over the years to communicate this. Delays in relaying this information to visitors was common. I was the Yellowstone project manager, co-designer and content producer for a new iteration, a mobile app driven by real-time data. This was a major and yet efficient shift in park communication.

Geyser Webcam

Unable to see Yellowstone’s geysers in person? Watch live eruptions in the App through a streaming webcam. I coordinated the installation and configuration of the pan/tilt/zoom webcam and created SOPs for operating it.
